Readers Registration
The basic services provided by the Slavonic Library are free of charge, but reader registration, photocopying, and some specialised services (e.g. searches) are subject to charges.
All fees (handling fees, specialised service charges, penalty fees) are charged based on the Rules and Regulations of the National Library of the CR and the Registration and Borrowing Rules of the Slavonic Library in the amount determined by the price list of paid services and fees.
Library Cards
Any person, institution, or organisation is entitled to become a library reader following registration and issuance of a library card.
The library card valid for the entire National Library of the CR is issued in the Hall of Services.
The Slavonic Library activates the reader’s account at the Circulation Desk of the Slavonic Library in compliance with its own lending rules.
Both in-house and home loans are provided to:
- citizens of the Czech Republic, EU citizens with a long-term residence permit in the Czech Republic and foreign citizens above 18 years of age with a permanent residence permit in the CR.
Only in-house loans are provided to:
- foreign citizens above 15 years of age with a short-term residence permit in the Czech Republic;
- foreign citizens above 15 years of age with a long-term or permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic until they have reached the age of 18;
- citizens of the Czech Republic above 15 years of age until they have reached the age of 18.
