The Digitisation of the Books of Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian Émigrés Published in Czechoslovakia in 1918–1945
In 2014, the Slavonic Library joined the programme for the development of the National Digital Library. It initiated the project of the gradual digitisation of the books published by Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian émigrés in Czechoslovakia in 1918–1945 and the book production of local émigré publishing houses. During document cataloguing preparation, the library tries to obtain permission from copyright holders for the provision of free access to the documents on the internet. If the title concerned is still copyright-protected, its digital copy is only available on computers on the premises of the National Library. In 2014–2020, 2,785 documents of the mentioned provenance were digitised; 1263 of them are freely accessible on the internet. Digital copies of documents are accessible in the Kramerius digital library. Links to the digital copies form part of the cataloguing records in the online catalogue of the Slavonic Library (the SLK database) and in the Union Catalogue of the Czech Republic (the SKC database). |
